Vienna-Prague Greenways Trail
The Vienna-Prague Greenways trail stretches for more than 250 miles connecting the Austrian and Czech capital. The route follows historic paths from the Danube River to the Dyje River in Southern Moravia and continues through Southern and Central Bohemia to the Sazava River valley. Beautiful countryside with cultural monuments, historic towns and villages with restored castles and churches, all that makes Greenways the most poular Czech bike route. Since much of the Czech Greenways route lies along the former Iron Curtain, where there had been limited access for more than four decades of Communism, the countryside remains untouched and the environment clean.
Greenways trail can be ridden in its entire length as a several-day trip or you can just take a part of it and begin or finish your ride e.g. in Mikulov.
You can drop-off the rented bikes free of charge in Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Mikulov or Vienna.
We have been arranging bike and hiking tours along the Vienna-Prague Greenways since 1996, so you can rely on our expert knowledge, if taking this route. You can also try out our self-guided or guided Greenways bike tours.
